The Piceno – a land to discover
The Piceno is a region of fabulous contrasts. Within 50 km you can travel from the coastal area, with a particular tropical scent, to the peaks of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains. In between is some of the loveliest countryside in Italy with rolling hills, well cultivated agricultural land and many delightful medieval villages set upon gentle hilltops.
This is the Piceno area. And this is only a fraction of the spectacle.
Our Land takes you from the sea …
The blue reflects the nearby hills. From medieval lanes and narrow streets you can look over the Adriatic Sea that has always been a real gift to our territory. If you add the tropical fragrance of our palm trees to the expanses of white sand, you will be admiring a picture made up of Italian colours, the Riviera delle Palme.
… to the mountains …
The mountains create both a boundary and a bond between the different cultures of a single valley that separates two close National Parks.
You can enjoy snowy tops in winter or run across green meadows in summer, take a walk along mountain tracks and explore the quiet relaxing corners of nature. This landscape, that has inspired poets and artists for centuries, is here for you to enjoy.
… through ancient medieval villages.
Dozens of art itineraries can be followed along the gentle profiles of our hills. Cultural routes offering a range of religious and Renaissance works of art are an important part of Italy’s heritage
